This 40,000 SF, 6 storey, 62 unit affordable housing project for Wigwamen Incorporated is currently under construction and was developed to intensify an existing 1990s co-operative affordable housing site to provide additional affordable housing. The existing residential building and associated parking garage will maintain occupancy during the construction of the adjacent new building.

The project has received capital contributions through the City of Toronto Open Door Affordable Rental Housing Program and Cities Stream of the CMHC Rapid Housing Initiative (RHI) federal program and is in close collaboration with the City’s Housing Secretariat and Priority Development team.

A high performance prefabricated building envelope assembly and steel framing system will provide for significant energy efficiencies to compliment the centralized energy recovery ventilation system and centralized heat pump cooling and heating plant which will also utilize extracted heat energy for domestic water heating.
