Rick Hansen Foundation

The Rick Hansen Foundation aims to provide meaningful access across the built environment, considering the needs of those with a variety of disabilities. Their work promotes the removal of physical and attitudinal barriers for people with disabilities and works to drive policy change while shifting perceptions. A Rick Hansen Foundation Accessibility Certification (RHFAC) allows your project to stand out in the market, giving you a competitive advantage by signalling to the public meaningful access has been considered to create an inclusive environment. Certification shows that a project can better serve the whole community and considers a broad range of needs throughout the design.

At Hilditch Architect, Lorna Robertson has gained her Professional designation through the Rick Hansen Foundation Accessibility Certification (RHFAC). Her training equips her to support projects on their journey to Rick Hansen Foundation certification through pre- and post-construction. As a member of the Accessibility Professionals Network, Lorna is equipped to help create measurably accessible, inclusive and people-centred built environments.
