Our YWCA Elm Centre / 110 Edward Street
project provides 300 units of affordable and supportive
housing, as well as for the new head office of
YWCA Toronto. This project, for which we have
teamed up with regionalArchitects, allies three of our
clients: YWCA Toronto, Wigwamen Inc., and
The Jean Tweed
Centre,
together in the development. The project features
radiant heating and cooling combined with a large
geoexchange well field with ground source heat pumps,
and an energy recovery ventilation system. The project
is presently under construction.
The first phase of our "Green
Phoenix"
project in Parkdale is complete, and the second phase is
under construction for the Parkdale United Church
Foundation. The project received a City of Toronto Award
of Excellence as a finalist in the 2007 Green Toronto
Awards. Our 40 Oaks project provides 87 units of affordable
housing and a ground floor community hub and worship
space for TCRC. Located in Regent Park at 40 Oak
Street, the project is in for building permit.
Bethlehem United Shelter, a
60 bed shelter for homeless men, women and couples,
operated by Fred Victor Centre, was completed in December 2007. Our
68 unit affordable housing project for YWCA Toronto was
completed and occupied in September 2007. The project
includes a child care centre for 62 children. On
November 6, 2006 our 20 Sewells Road affordable housing
project for Wigwamen Inc.
was the recipient of a
Best Practices in Affordable Housing award from CMHC.
We also have a series of
community health centre satellites, community hubs, and a
children's hospice under development.
